Princess Cruises Alfredo’s Pizzeria

Princess Cruises Alfredo’s Pizzeria Is The Best Kept Secret At Sea

On the Regal Princess, my family and I just returned from a fantastic vacation that we took over the holidays and into the new year. You should definitely give it some further thought if you’ve ever thought about spending the holidays on a cruise. Today I wanted to discuss food, more specifically the food available on cruise ships, specifically Princess Cruises’ Alfredo’s Pizzeria. A comprehensive review of the voyage is forthcoming.

The “casual meals” that were provided aboard the Regal Princess were one of the aspects of the cruise that we enjoyed the most. It’s possible that this was the most delicious casual cuisine we’ve had on any trip up to this point. In a manner of speaking, Alfredo’s Pizzeria was the cherry on top of the sundae!

Princess Cruises: Excellent Casual Food

Since you asked, the Regal Princess has some seriously DELICIOUS options for more casual dining.

Just a few of the dining options are the International Cafe, Poolside Grill, Horizon Court Buffet, and Room Service (hey, I adore this!). All of these free events feature a wide variety of delicious items to choose from, so you won’t go hungry.

Having said that, I’m going to let you in on one of the most well guarded secrets that Regal Princess has. Even though many cruisers know and agree that Princess serves the best pizza at sea (even USA Today thinks so), many of us are thinking of a poolside pizzeria where we can order pizza to take away. Hey, that’s not bad either, but Alfredo’s Pizzeria is where it’s at when it comes to exquisite and delicious pizza!

Princess Cruises: Alfredo’s Pizzeria

It doesn’t matter if you’re hungry for lunch, dinner, or something in between because Alfredo’s Pizzeria will not disappoint. It stands out as a bit of a special experience, so much so that many guests on our ship thought it was an additional “specialty” restaurant, which was not included in the price of the cruise. However, the cruise rate did cover the cost of dining there.

As a helpful piece of advice, why not eat at Alfredo’s on the day that you embark? You will find that most people will be rushing to the buffet, which means that you will have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely meal here before the word gets out later in the trip. Please read on to learn about our experiences.

What sets Alfredo’s Pizzeria apart from other restaurants in the area?

1. It is a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere where you can sit down and be served.

The Alfredo’s restaurant occupies a significant portion of deck 6, and it has a big number of seats that are separated by enough space so that guests can sit together in smaller groups. When on a cruise, it is convenient to be able to simply sit down and have food brought to you without having to travel to the dining room.

2. The interior design and table settings are elegant while still maintaining a casual atmosphere.

A visually appealing environment is one of my absolute favourites to relax in. Because to the use of warm wood and neutral but warm tones, customers at Alfredo’s Pizzeria have the impression that they are dining in a cosy establishment.

3. It has a good menu that features a variety of Italian specialties that are cooked from scratch.

You can anticipate to receive dishes such as pastas, pizzas, salads, and desserts that have a homemade flavour and are delectable.

4. It’s part of the deal! That is just amazing, isn’t it?!

More meal selections that are included in the price of the cruise are one of my favourite things ever. Having to pay a few dollars more for cuisine that is considered to be plain or informal is something that I do not particularly enjoy doing. However, I do not mind spending money on an occasional lunch at a unique specialised restaurant. Princess Cruises provides a very good value for their customers because of all that is included in their itineraries.

About Alfredo’s Pizzeria

Alfredo’s Pizzeria is named after Master Chef Alfredo Marzi, who is responsible for creating his thin crust Neapolitan Style Pizza (from scratch) for Princess Cruises. Alfredo’s Pizzeria is located in Newport Beach, California. It is truly informal pizza, but it can also be considered “gourmet,” and it is well worth your effort to schedule a supper there at some point during your cruise.

On Deck 6 of the breathtaking three-story Piazza is where you’ll find Alfredo’s Pizzeria (atrium for Princess Cruises). The Piazza is a centre for many forms of entertainment as well as eateries and retail establishments.

There are times when Alfredo’s will be very peaceful due to its location in the Piazza area, and there are other moments when it will be noisier due to its location in the area. One evening, as we sat down for a later meal, we could hear the band playing in the background. It did not affect us at all, and in fact, it added to the “night out” atmosphere; however, it is important that you are aware of this possibility in case it does disturb you. If you prefer a more peaceful dining experience, the best times to go there are during lunch, the afternoon, and the early evening hours.

Alfredo’s Pizzeria review

We boarded the ship at midday on the first day of our cruise, and we decided to have lunch at Alfredo’s before the ship became overcrowded with passengers. We had heard that Alfredo’s was an excellent restaurant, and since we are aficionados of pizza, we were delighted to try out this venue because it was “free.”

After being greeted warmly by the maitre d’, we were shown to our table, which was a comfy round booth. Permit me to start off by saying that not only is the cuisine delicious, but also this is a really lovely and comfortable place to sit down and enjoy your meal.

After perusing the menu, we settled on a few items and made the decision to split them. During the course of our voyage, we returned more than once, and as a result, we were able to sample approximately half of the menu’s offerings. On the other hand, given that we already had our favourites, we decided to purchase some more. In addition, I am a huge admirer of Margherita pizza, and my family and I get it almost wherever we go!

The Menu at Alfredo’s Pizza Restaurant

Appetizers: We started with the Antipasto Assortito Di Magro, which is a salad comprised of tomato, soft mozzarella, and pesto. It was one of the best things we ate there. This is an item that I have repeatedly purchased from you. Another time, my husband placed an order for an Antipasto Mari de Monte. This is a platter of cold meats such as parma ham and genoa salami, along with a little bowl of shrimp salad. This was also of very high quality.

First courses: For our first courses, we split a Margherita pizza and a calzone that we ordered as our main meals.

There was a wide selection of pizzas to choose from, but my favourite is the traditional Margarita pizza. Because I like having fresh basil on my pizza, I specifically requested that it be included, and it was. Simply put in your “customization” request, and you can have complete control over the ingredients that go onto your pizza.

It was a good thing that we split the calzone because it was quite substantial. It was filled with a great combination of ingredients that worked well together and was one of the best meals I’ve ever tasted.

Dishes Comprising Pasta We also ordered as “sides” the Agnolotti Gratinati Alla Piemontese, which was a baked veal packed ravioli dish. Both my husband and my son were very enthusiastic about this meal. Because they enjoyed it so much, they decided to get another one. In my opinion, you shouldn’t pass it up.

In addition to that, we got the Rollata di Melanzane, which was a delicious baked eggplant dish stuffed with angel hair pasta and served with marinara sauce. Despite the fact that I am a huge fan of eggplant and that this particular component tasted good, the pasta that was stuffed within was just not very impressive. Personally, I think an eggplant dish made without the addition of spaghetti would have been more appealing.

Dessert:

When we went to Alfredo’s for the first time on the day we embarked, we decided against ordering dessert. We just couldn’t fit any more food in. However, we did come back another night and finish our meal with the tiramisu, which lived up to its reputation of being quite tasty (actually better than the one in the dining-room, in my opinion). In addition to that, we had the Apple Torte that was topped with Apricot Jam and vanilla sauce, and it was also quite delicious.

We had a wonderful time at Alfredo’s Pizzeria and ended up eating there twice—once for lunch and another for a late dinner. We returned to the ship around 2:00 p.m. on a day when we were in port, and we enjoyed a delicious meal after returning to the ship. Take advantage of the times that are just not very busy by taking advantage of the fact that a surprisingly low number of people do this.

Alfredo’s is without a doubt one of the very best informal dining options available on any ship, which is something that we make it a point to look for whenever we go on a cruise as it is one of our favourite things to do while we are at sea.

I really hope that you found my review to be informative. If you’ve been to Alfredo’s, what are some of the foods that you recommend ordering? Leave a comment below telling me what you think about this topic.

Happy Cruising
